Hosted by: Thomas Collura of BrainMaster Technologies Inc.
BrainMaster Hardware and Software walk-through. This workshop is
designed to help BrainMaster owners get started and to learn the basics
of equipment and software operation as well as learn advanced software
features. Detailed review of BrainMaster software operation including Live
Z-Score and Z Plus navigation. Learn all BrainAvatarâ„¢ 4.0 software and Live

Friday | 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Hosted by: Dick Genardi, Ph.D Atlantis and Discovery Users
The goal of my session is to present practical materials and conceptual
resources which the attendee (practitioner) can use post workshop to
integrate the information presented, have a means of going from clinical
assessment to protocol development with confidence, based on knowledge
of brain behavior relationship at the Brodmann level and the network
level. In addition, each attendee will receive two BrainAvatar settings
file; one to train any one of the Hagmann Network modules, the other any
one of the Mini-Q major 4-channel positions. The last portion of my
presentation will be the demonstration of ( and if time and equipment
available the actual running of) those programs. I will review the
neuroanatomical systems involved in fear and anxiety disorders.
Furthermore, I focus on functional neuroanatomy details specific to
various disorders, in this case anxiety. |

• Getting comfortable with goops and gels
• Understanding where the wires go
• Hooking a client up to the equipment
• Running a training session on a client
Sunday | 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
• Clinical assessment of the client
• Developing a treatment plan, protocol selection, and modifications over the course of treatment
• Management of the client’s expectations and experience
• Hands on experience
• Practicing until comfortable with the basic procedures |

Track 2:
For Intermediate to Advanced Users of QEEG (with focus on Discovery), Live Z-Score, BrainAvatarâ„¢, and Neurofeedback |
Saturday | 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Hosted by: Mark Smith
Fundamentals of Live Z-Score training (percent ZOK).
QEEG metrics for absolute and relative power ratios,
asymmetry, coherent, phase. Basic and advanced
Live Z-Score training. Importance of connectivity for
communication and control in the brain.
Hands-on practicum with BrainMaster BrainAvatarâ„¢ 4.0
and Live Z-Score. You will experience Live Z-Score as well
as train your partner for familiarity and confidence with
using the Live Z- Score DLL with BrainMaster equipment
and software. Advanced approaches also discussed.
Sunday| 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Review associations of Brodmann areas (BA) with 10-20 electrode sites
and LORETA Regions of Interest. Review handout materials mapping
localization of function with 10-20 sites. Review handout materials on
functional networks, or BA groupings or clusters. Two strategies for
synthesizing the grouping of areas by function are offered: One by Dr.
Tom Collura originally used in the design of the Mini-Q and NF using the
Mini-Q box for rapid electrode site selections.
The second is known as Hub analysis, two prominent models by P. Hagmann (
6 hubs) and Y. He (5 hubs) respectively. Access and become familiar
with on-line brain atlas sites. Learn to access databases on
brain-behavior relationships. Review standard frequency bands, their
neural generators, and their function in neural networks. Learn about
basic phase relationships in neural information processing. Learn how
amplitude, coherence and phase
Z score measures aid clinical decisions when designing treatment protocols. Learn to use Neuroguide & LORETA for generating convergent protocols. Learn to use Neuroguide & LORETA for generating convergent data in mapping of patient complaints to location. Case study review. |
